Post Majority

About

Supports and services provided to youth and young adults who are approaching, reached, or have surpassed the age of majority, who have aged out of the Child and Family Services system. This age ranges from 18-26 years old.

Supports and services may include; housing, education, employment, life-skills, training, and youth transition into independence and adulthood.

  • Eligibility

    Services are available to youth aging out of care and who live on reserve or lived on reserve at the time of entering care.

  • Funding

    Funding for the Post Majority Support Services became available as a result of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal’s decision which found Canada guilty of discriminating against First nations children. Funding is available to agencies and is now being transitioned to communities.
