LSFN Celebrates Treaty Days
LSFN hosted its annual Treaty Days July 23rd and 24th in Frenchman’s Head. Treaty 3 was signed between the Anishinaabe and the Government of Canada in 1873. To learn more about the signing of Treaty 3, visit The Canadian Encyclopida.
The two day event started out with some stormy weather, but the community came together to transfer the event indoors moving tables, chairs, food, and supplies before the rain hit.
Rain did not dampen the spirits of participants and by day two majority of events were able to be held outdoors.
Activities included, log tossing, clown car, bouncy castles, car rally, tug of war, skeet shooting, a dunk tank, and more.
Special performances were seen throughout the days. LSFN welcomed Mason Hoop Dancers, Sly Da Supastar, Darren Lavallee Band, Deadly Uncle Vibes, and a magician to hypnotize the crowd. A Surprise twist came as Emcee Mooselegs challenged Deadly Uncle to see who could ride the mechanical bull the longest. Watch the video for the results below!
