18th Annual Ice Fishing Derby Results

On Saturday February 21, 2026, 250 ice fishing holes lay drilled by Lac Seul Resort in Frenchman’s Head for the 18th Annual Derby.

With the top prize of $30,000, many fishers return year after year hoping for the best bite.

It was a tough day on the ice with only 5 total fish caught and a few that slipped away. Two pike, two walleye, and one perch made it onto the board with the winner fishing weighing 1lb 11oz.

Concessions and prizes were available on the ice by Little NHL and Fast Approved Auto.

Bobby Goodwin was able to take home $1,127.50 from the Little NHL 50/50 draw.

There were many prizes up for grabs for those unable to bait the biggest catch. Fishers walked away with prizes such as a quad, snowblower, ice fishing huts, yeti coolers, gift cards, sled sleigh, chainsaws, smokers, grills, iPads, generators, and more.
